Big Red's Advance to Class A Final

Inside Prep Sports/By TJ Kelley

Muskegon's 6'3" 2015 wing Joeviar Kennedy led Muskegon with 11 in the first quarter and an 18-9 advantage.  That first quarter lead and Kennedy's ability to score showed that Muskegon was far more than a two-man team of Mr. Basketball DeShaun Thrower and MSU commit Deyonta Davis.  Count in a big second and third quarter by senior guard Will Roberson and the recipe is hard to overcome for the state's top ranked team as they advance to Saturday's final after today's 63-47 win.

27-0 Muskegon will play the winner of the Bloomfield Hills/University of Detroit-Jesuit game.

Muskegon was led by Thrower and Kennedy's 14 points apiece.  Followed by Jordan Waire's eleven and Davis' 10 as well as six rebounds and six blocks.

Mt. Pleasant was led by Detroit-Mercy commit Jaleel Hogan's 14 points and ten rebounds.

Mt. Pleasant ended the season 22-5 and had the best tournament run in school history.
